In 2016, the word “glamping” was added to the Oxford English Dictionary, and the relatively new phenomenon is typically a curated camping experience filled with amazing views, unique accommodations and the finest of nature along with comfortable sleeping arrangements, electricity and indoor plumping (not to mention good coffee and meals, as well as spa services, in some cases).
Organizations that specialize in glamping, as well as glamping-specific sites, are popping up around the world, making this experience more available and accessible than ever.
With a glamping outing, you will experience nature and yourself in a brand-new way, seeing natural wonders you may have never before witnessed. And, while you will be sleeping in comfortable quarters, you will still have the opportunity to test your fitness and sense of adventure. People who enjoy the great outdoors, but would rather not sleep on the hard ground or go a day without restroom facilities, are turning to glamping in increasing numbers.
Despite the additional amenities, glamping is still a green, energy-efficient experience that may take advantage of solar power, fresh produce, recycled structures and more for those interested in eco-minded travel.
More than a nice tent or some pretty vistas, glamping appeals to those who prefer something fresh, unique and authentic. No matter where you are thinking of traveling next, there is likely a glamping outfit within reach; a simple online search for “glamping” will turn up a wealth of organizations with operations across the globe.
When you are planning your next trip, you might consider the possibility of glamour and camping all in one distinctive package.
