Since joining Herbert J. Sims & Co., Inc. in 1994, Ms. Wasserstein has been instrumental in financing projects for nursing homes, CCRCs, senior housing facilities, and assisted living facilities. Ms. Wasserstein has successfully secured credit enhancement, including letters-of-credit from various commercial banks and financial guarantees from MBIA Insurance Corporation, and Radian Inc. for various senior living care bond issues. Her experience encompasses single- and multi-modal bond structures, as well as obtaining interest rate protection to reduce risk for long-term care providers. In addition, Ms. Wasserstein is responsible for the firm’s publication of “Emerging Continuing Care Retirement Communities: An Analysis of Key Statistics”. The study is the first detailed look at new CCRC costs, fees, design characteristics, and financial feasibility and tracks CCRCs over the course of their lifecycles.

Prior to joining Sims, Ms. Wasserstein was an internal auditor with the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, where she performed financial and operational analyses of various corporate subsidiaries.  Ms. Wasserstein currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Federation:  Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut, Inc.

Ms. Wasserstein received her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in Economics and Political Science from Tufts University. She earned a Masters degree in Public and Private Management from Yale University, where her concentration included both finance and health care management.
