Jimmy Yu joined Herbert J. Sims & Co., Inc. in July 2007 as Senior Vice President of Asset Management. He is primarily responsible for monitoring and managing the asset and operating partner relationships related to the proprietary transactions throughout the United States. Mr. Yu has more than 13 years of accounting and asset management experience, including over seven years in the management of senior living assets.

Prior to joining Herbert J. Sims & Co., Inc., Mr. Yu served as Vice President of Asset Management for CNL Retirement Corp, the advisor to CNL Retirement Properties Inc., a real estate investment trust specializing in Senior Housing. Mr. Yu oversaw the asset management of a portfolio of assets valued at $500 million, including monitoring and reporting, deal restructuring and workouts, development and capital improvements oversight, and facility management changes. He has managed relationships with major operators such as Sunrise Senior Living, Marriott Senior Living, and Brookdale Senior Living.

Mr. Yu holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Florida. In addition, Mr. Yu is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
