Herbert J. Sims & Co. raised $30 million in seed money for a start-up CCRC, the largest seed capital raise in the industry. The raise included a bank loan and Sims’ MatchCap℠ seed money program. The Amsterdam at Harborside used $22 million of the raise to purchase the site and will utilize the rest of the proceeds for other pre-development expenditures. The project is located in North Hempstead, New York, and its first phase of 256 independent and 76 health care units will cost over $200 million.
